This lead-free SV-3 self-piercing valve for 3/8″ to 1.25″ pipes can draw a water supply from Copper or CPVC piping. It will connect to pipe sizes up to 1 1/4″ and as small as 3/8″.

These valves are a code violation in some areas, and over time, they can develop leaks when you use them to shut the water off. We always recommend using a John Guest shut-off valve (found below) with the self-piercing valve. This way, the self-piercing valve does not have to be used to shut the water off. This recommendation will ensure that you receive many years of reliable service from this part.
This way, you do not need to use the self-piercing valve to shut the water off. The valve will usually not leak unless you use it as a shut-off.
